Art from All Kinds

Black River Falls is a small city with a big heart, and we at the Black River Falls Downtown Association are getting ready to share our passion for art and culture with the world. Some of the most talented artists and musicians will be gathering in beautiful historical downtown Black River Falls, Saturday, June 11th from 10-6pm, for an epic day of art, entertainment, and good times. Vendors will be setting up shop along historic Main Street, there will be something for everyone – from unique artwork and handmade crafts to delicious local foods like caramel apples and cheese curds. Our Car Show right on Main Street will bring you instant nostalgia. Our featured artist, Schan Wylde, a world-renowned, international seller, and intuitive artist, will be raffling off a painting at 1 pm! Schan Wylde is a realistic and intuitive artist who works to create a mood in her paintings that draws you in. Her work has been shown all over the world, including in Melbourne, Australlia. Her pieces are not only beautiful but also make for great conversation pieces. There’s even going to be live music with Mitch McVicker and local musician, Guitar Dan O’Brien. Wrapping it all up at dusk we hope you bring a lawn chair and join us at the Field of Honor Park for Movie in the Park, co-sponsored by Co-Op Credit Union. We will be featuring the movie Sing 2. Come visit us in beautiful Black River Falls at our Annual Arts & Crafts Festival!

LIVE MUSIC: Mitch McVicker is going to kick off the event at 10 am. He recently recorded his 12th album, A Shrugging of the Shoulders. His solo career has spanned over 2200 concerts in 49 states and 13 countries. Along with recording 11 full-length albums, he has made 2 EPs, and released 2 live concert DVDs. With the recording of Shrugging’s 14 songs, Mitch set out to capture the same spirit of his live concerts – using his unique and signature construction of percussion tracks by looping junk, household items, and children’s toys. His concert is a little bit Mark Twain meets MacGyver. His quirky and inventive approach includes insightful song lyrics, unconventional instruments, and profound storytelling. It’s not just about the music, it’s about the people! That’s why we have a local musician, Black Waters Dan Guitar O’Brien, following McVicker. Guitar Dan is a one-man band, a lifelong harmonica player who will be bringing his guitar and harmonica skills to you!

CAR SHOW: If you’re looking for a place to show off your ride, look no further than Main Street! We’ll be hosting a car show with registration starting at 9 am, and we can’t wait to see all the beautiful cars you bring. Vehicles enter from S. 3rd.

There’s just one small thing: the entry fee is $5.00. That’s right—you read that right. Five dollars! And then you get to come back and show us your ride at 2 pm when we’ll have awards for all the best cars of the day! All makes and models are welcomed. 9 am-3 pm Questions? And if that isn’t enough excitement for you, check out Karma New & Used 100-foot mural depicting Dave’s Vision. Brought to life and painted by Cosa Ink in 2021! It’s sure to make any selfie you take there extra special.
